One of the kids was really quiet, shy, and kept to themselves. As soon as she got on the field or court she was beast. Tackling everyone on the spot.

He meant that school felt like hell because of the people, he didn’t want to be there because of homer. He’s just using hell as a word for school.

They were suspicious of how late they were flying, how low they were to us and how they didn’t have any lights on, just smoke and dust.

Stanley Goodman, one of the victims, was B.G.'s biological father. The Appellant denied the allegations of sexual abuse and believed that Stanley Goodman was responsible for B.G. falsely accusing him of sexual abuse. The proof at trial showed that the Appellant shot and killed both victims while they were in their bedroom. The Appellant admitted his actions to several witnesses who testified at trial.

Ellie isn’t sure where their story begins, but she knows that it isn’t over yet. It has been over a week since Kevin drove off with Corrie, and Ellie tries not to think about what might have happened. Maybe Corrie died, or maybe they never got to the hospital. Ellie doesn’t know.

In the novel, Ellie shows bravery, leadership, and teamwork. While Homer showed the opposite. There aren't many strengths that represent his character but one I can think of is selfish. I see a lot of this when the team is trying to tell him what's right or when he had to help his girlfriend.
Having leadership means a lot if you were in there person. they had no adults, no one to help but the team.
